Business Foundations 200 (Certificate)
Business Foundation 200 is a 48 week course comprised of 24 weeks of in-class instruction followed by 24 weeks of co-op education in a Canadian work environment. Building on what was learned in Business Foundations 100, the communication component incorporates excellence in business communication with the most current strategies and practices used in today’s workplace. It includes an emphasis on business writing, specifically in social media and technology platforms. As a result, the Business Foundations 200 program will promote active learning and stimulate critical thinking.

Classroom Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion, students will gain knowledge of the FIVE key areas of business:
- Introducing the Contemporary Business World
- The Business of Managing
- Managing Operations and Information
- Managing Marketing
- Managing Financial Issues
In addition, students will gain critical thinking skills and knowledge of the FIVE key areas of communication:
- Understanding the Foundations of Business Communications
- Applying the Three-Step Writing Process
- Crafting Brief Messages
- Writing Employment Messages and Interviewing for Jobs
- Preparing Reports and Oral Presentations
*Students are required to bring a binder and a calculator as there is an accounting component.
Business Foundations 200 Co-op
After 24 weeks of full time courses, students will proceed to fulfill their co-op placement component (24 weeks) of the program. Completion of the 24 week co-op component, students must provide a written report on their co-op experience to successfully complete the program.
Upon successfully completing the program, students will receive:
- Business Foundations 200 Certificate
